From our humble beginnings as a small platform with a big vision, Brownie Points has bust its boots, and is no longer just a networking site for do-gooders. In addition to connecting volunteers with causes they care about, we now also cater to businesses keen on giving back to their communities.

Our recent success with #ActForChange, an exciting community engagement initiative in partnership with the Shoprite Group, has proven our platform to be a powerful impact tool. And we’re so pleased and proud to be campaigning active change throughout our continent!

So what were some of the major successes we shared with Shoprite this year?

In just four months we ran 2 campaigns across 12 African countries, involving over 15 000 people in 642 cleanups. And all of this was made possible through the recently launched #ActForChange platform!

On a large scale, volunteers, corporates and suppliers from different areas of Africa were involved in organising and attending waste pick ups and recycling initiatives. Communities used the #ActForChange platform to both create and sign up for cleanup events across the continent.

Feedback received from hosts and volunteers from various African countries has been heartwarming and encouraging! The campaign has proven that a single event can have a ripple effect in educating communities about waste and inspiring them to take sustainable action in their areas.
