Mahatma Ghandi once famously said, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” And at Brownie Points, we’ve taken this to heart. From 14-18 July, in partnership with Shoprite and do gooders across the continent, we’ll be the change by hosting Africa’s biggest ever cleanup!
Our recently launched #ActForChange campaign is one of our most exciting collaborations yet. With 6000 people across nine countries expected to participate in 500 events, our involvement in this magnitude of good deeds is humbling. On a large scale, volunteers, corporates, clients and suppliers from different areas of Africa will be involved in organising and attending waste pick ups and recycling initiatives.
At Brownie Points we’ve always believed that every gesture, no matter how small, has the potential to change a life, and now we’ve taken this to the next level.

Through our partnership with Shoprite we hope to inspire corporates across South Africa, Africa and indeed the world, to step up and make a real, sustainable difference. All the potential to heal our planet and our people lies in our capable hands. All we have to do is act.
As consciousness spreads the globe, more and more of us are waking up to the dire need to give back to the planet what we have taken out. It’s estimated that a garbage truck of plastic is dumped into our ocean every minute! And this is only one of many never-ending shocking facts. Fortunately, in South Africa, corporates such as Shoprite are fast jumping onto the benefactor bandwagon. And we’re here to support them all the way.
The Brownie Points platform is designed not only to connect volunteers and NPOs, but also as a powerful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) tool. Our features are aptly designed to empower both staff, suppliers and clients. All from one digital platform you can create and support initiatives, set goals and tracking, monitor progress and gather data for extensive reporting. In addition to all this, we are focusing on growing our platform to include more sustainability and company culture related offerings.
