We are very excited to announce that Brownie Points is in the top 10 selected startups to team up with Startupbootcamp Cape Town!

Startupbootcamp – backed by sponsors: Old Mutual, RCS, BNP Paribas Personal Finance, Nedbank, Woolworths Financial Services and PwC – helps high-growth startups achieve in just 3 months what would normally take 18 months or more.

Brownie Points, together with 9 other scalable, disruptive and transformative startups, will participate in a 3-month programme starting on 4 September 2017.

The Brownie Points team is getting all the financial, strategy and marketing support it needs (not to mention office space in one of the best co-working office spaces in Cape Town) to be able to accelerate and have more impact in the South African philanthropy industry.

What this means for our do-gooders:

Over the next 4 months, Brownie Points will develop an efficient and cost-effective way to help companies find, manage, track and reward corporate volunteering efforts with verified nonprofit organisations. Studies have shown that employees who volunteer during work hours are 57% more productive and 87% less likely to abandon the company. While this has many implications on the bottom line, corporate volunteering also helps worthy causes gain access to a larger pool of resources and skills from the corporate world. It’s a win-win-win… exactly how we like it.
