Win R20 000 for Your Favourite Cause with #MyGivingStory

How does winning R20,000 for an NPO of your choice sound? If you’re interested, keep reading!!

As Giving Tuesday South Africa, we’re excited to launch this contest! We’re keen to hear more from all of you about why you give, what you give towards, and how you give. We want to know more about the causes you support and how you support them.

Send us your story and stand the chance to win R20,000 for your favourite NPO. It’s just that simple.

For inspiration check out Richard Branson’s giving story shared here; or watch

Yvonne Chaka-Chaka’s story below.

Giving is not just for high net worth individuals though, #GivingTuesdaySA really is about encouraging local philanthropy and supporting initiatives in your own communities.

Did you know #GivingTuesday raised over $300 million USD in 2017?

We believe everyone has something to give, and by sharing our stories, we can inspire others to give.

The #MyGivingStory contest will launch on Oct 30, 2018 and run until Nov 27, 2018.

Entries will close on #GivingTuesdaySA. This is your chance to tell your story, telling us about your chosen organisations, the impact they are having in your community and what motivates you to give towards that specific cause.

Follow us on social media (@GivingTuesdaySA) to learn more about the platform and submission instructions when we launch.  In the meantime, start thinking about your giving story and making plans for #GivingTuesdaySA!

Here are a few ideas to get you started. Tell us about:

  • Why you think giving is important.
  • The first time you ever made a donation.
  • Someone whose giving you admire.
  • A time when a gift had a meaningful impact.
  • What motivates you to give.

More details about the contest can be found on our website. We look forward to hearing from all of you!
